Margaret Hamilton’s most famous role but just too bad it hit in 1939, Hollywood’s greatest year. GWTW dominated everything. If that wasn’t enough it also featured Stagecoach, Mr. Smith, and even Mr. Chips. Oz was crowded out. Judy Garland did get an Oscar for being Judy Garland.
I read all of the books in that series. They actually are very good and a lot better than the movie. While the movie was great and ground breaking in a lot of ways, the books usually are.
Margaret Hamilton and Hattie McDaniel, two of the best supporting actresses ever. Too bad their movies came out the same year. Both performances were worthy of the Oscar. Margaret even made an appearanxe on Mr Roger’s show in 1975. IRL she was reportedly a very nice person.
I never understood why the Witch of the West had buckets of water just sitting around her castle. That would be like a normal human having buckets of sulfuric acid lying around the house. And she could never bathe. Imagine the smell.

That would also mean his death by structural failure would result in her getting a pretty snazzy pair of shoes…so it’s not all bad.
