I shop online now so I don’t drive the husband insane by having to stop and inspect every aisle for deals/salt levels/etc, after all I’m not selecting 1 brand of ketchup I’m eliminating all other options. I don’t know how I’m still married after 12 years haha
If I ask my hubby to go out and do a chore, I expect him to dawdle chatting with strangers. Just don’t let anything frozen melt. But honestly, ordering online is quickly becoming my preferred way of shopping.
While husband was still working I ran all the errands, did all the housework, etc and worked full time. He needed to quit his job early – in his mid 50s. We made an agreement at my insistence that I would continue to run all the household errands alone, as well as doing all the housework.
Then the gas prices went crazy and he pointed out that it made no sense for me to drive to supermarket to shop and him to drive separately to the Home Depot in the same shopping center and pay twice for gas.
Now we are together all day, every day (I used to go once a month to a business client and once a month to a club meeting, but both stopped with the start of Covid). I don’ drive unless we need to drive both vehicles somewhere (such as the mechanic 3 blocks away because it raining or snowing when we need to bring a vehicle there – and if one is our RV – I have to drive it as he afraid to drive it alone. I had to go for jury duty – forgot how to turn the the wipers on in the car! I really wish he would go out and do things alone – even just walk around in a store so I could get my housework done.

Make sure you’re home before the street lights come on, too.

I have been permanently disinvited to grocery shopping. All I did was buy one can of pickled figs.

Talk about a henpecked husband. I bet Mr. Dog gets no reprieve from the wifey chicken lady. Bawk!
