Fred Olen Ray’s lawyers are now filing suit because I am 99.9% sure that there has to be a movie that he’s produced and directed called Fatal Lethal Revenge.
Henry Ford developed the assembly line for his cars. He was visiting a friend who proudly showed him that he had taken the next step; his shoe factory was totally mechanized, no people required. Ford asked him how many shoes he expected those machines to be buying over the next year.
The movie studios tell you that it’s illegal to make a digital copy of their movie without paying them. But they want to make digital copies of human beings without paying them.
One of the previous batches? When Reptilicans thought it was a wonderful idea to “outsource” jobs to foreign lands.
What could go wrong? Having no middle-class purchasers of their goods and services at home? Wreaking havoc with families and communities — and the country’s economic and tax bases?
I’ve been annoyed with what I call factory made entertainment for a long time. A lot of it seems to be produced from something akin to engineering specs. Full automation is a natural step.
If it wasn’t for all those mucus sacks that I pay to work here, just think of all the money I could be making! (Selling to mucus sacks that now no longer have a source of money to spend.)
Considering that the media is already talking about a few new influencers that are gaining huge followings and they’re all AI, I fear things have already gone down the drain. I hope the strikers win.
High quality CGI can already create a performer that can stand close scrutiny. The money makers will carry this to it’s final extent soon enough, new contracts notwithstanding. Actors seem mostly worried about their likeness being used without compensation. But if it’s not their face who knows? As long as they just rehash top grossing movies the writers are excess baggage.
As soon as it became possible for people to make reasonably good movies with digital cameras and editing software on a mid-range laptop, Hollywood and the studio system was dead. YouTube and other outlets for small independent content creators are the new normal.

It ain’t Duckburg, but everyone’s a duck, and that’s close enough. Meanwhile, I suspect that Hollingsworth hound is one of the Beagle Boys.
