In my neighborhood, it is Sandhill Cranes and White Ibises that come wandering through your yard.
The Cranes have 100% adapted to people. They don’t run or fly away. They just Amble. If they are crossing the road when you are driving, you have to stop because they just Ignore cars.
Something similar and weird happened today. Huge buzzards landed in the street and then flew onto the roof of the house across the street. They were so enormous they looked like they would break it. It was a creepy sight. I would have preferred geese.
I’ve never been a “don’t say anything not nice” thinker, but this … is sweet. While it’s a mild joke, it is truly a joke, and far better than average for this strip.

Better than a goose call. It’s that time again, already, for them to start heading south. Heard some last week.

Earlier I was going to comment about Mr. Crankshaft, an axe, a yard full of geese, and Sunday dinner, but I chose not to.
