Even the characters are acknowledging how long and convoluted this story arc is.

Nice. Quick, dirty, and right to the point. These two are truly frenemies.

As I’ve already noted, Phoebe thought there was something suspicious about the award when she learned that Dakota was getting an award too. “I’ve a feeling that something doesn’t add up but then I often get that feeling.” Several readers then suspected that the award would turn out to be a trick.

Queen Prunella is responsible for at least part of the trick but there may be more to it. Queen Prunella was setting a trap for Dakota and also involved Phoebe and Marigold. Now Marigold seems to have been trapped. Someone may be using Queen Prunella in a trap for Marigold. Alternatively, it may turn out that Marigold set all this up with Queen Prunella to help bond Phoebe and Dakota closer together. We’ll have to see how things develop.

Real something, at least. Time to go back and get Queen Prunella to help them.

I can easily imagine the unseen panel before the first one being Phoebe cueing them in. “Ready? Three, two one…”

Get out of there… And go where?

“Let’s get out of here” – Ok, Dakota, you’re stranded at a train station in an alternate smelly dimension. A train just whisked away your only other ride and your classmate is probably worried about her unicorn’s capture. Oh, and there’s a goblin queen out to get you. You’re also 10 years old. I’m curious as to what your next move would be?

They’re going Nowhere fast.
