I’ve always felt puttering had a more active component. This seems to verge on “skiving off”.

Sitting in the garage and drinking a beer is still doing something.

Somebody’s racked with guilt.

Dang, I was wrong yesterday, she ain’t got this.

And that is why they get along after all this time.

it can be tough for some of us to not be doing something constructive, valuable, worthwhile. I’m not type A but sometimes I feel like just sitting is wasting precious time.

I gotta disagree with Bub’s definition of puttering. You still get things done, there’s just no hurry at all about it. And the things you get done may not be important things…

This is how it’s done. My dad taught me, so it’s been handed down for generations. :~)

It’s ok. Guilt for inactivity is overrated.

I thought the essence of puttering was getting the little ball in the hole
