Just last night I had to ask the garage walls why I was in the garage. It took me a moment to realize I had gone out to the freezer to get my frozen cherries. Cherries Jubilee for dessert last night.
It is called “sometimres.” Forgetting where you put the car keys is fairly common and not a cause for concern. Not knowing what car keys are, is something worth talking to a doctor about.
Older son told me that he occasionally goes into a room but forgets why. Said if he walks backward out through the door the memory returns. [It doesn’t work with 2 doors.]
Gave it some thought and realized the same thing has happened to me from time to time. Made a guess that when you back out facing the door, you see the same ‘scene’ as when you had the thought and that triggers the memory. Like reversing a video tape to a certain point.
Yeah, I know. Old guy thinking, but why not? Too hot to work in the yard and too much stuff in the garage to try to get it straight today. Besides that means I’d have to remember where I put stuff after I move it.

For those of you under 50, come back in a decade or two and you might get this strip.
