When I went to the kitchen, the cat was there, outside the window. It was just sitting there, watching me. “Well,” I thought, “it’s a cat, and has nothing better to do, since it isn’t hungry for the moment.” So I went about my business, ending up with binge-watching a few episodes of a series that had caught my interest. And then to bed. This is where it started to get weird. I was awakened in the dead of night by a voice nearby in the dark. It said, “Arise, for you have been called upon to fulfill your destiny. I have searched for many years, and now you are found.” There was only a dim light from my clock radio’s digital display in the room, but my eyes were full adjusted to the dark. Still, I could make out nothing but a faint shadow where the voice seemed to originate. “What? What destiny? How did you get in here? What is this?” I felt a bit like an armadillo caught in the headlights of an oncoming truck.
That’s why the ones I’ve seen were all dead, squashed in the middle of the road, “road” in this case meaning assorted Texas highways (when I lived in Texas for a couple of years as a youth)….

…if you arm a dil-do watch out for the itchy trigger finger…
…if you arm a Giddens look out for Forrest fires, extreme hot temperatures, earthquakes, hurricanes, floods, and Twinkies that never age…
…FA brings intellectual mirth…
