Without us knowing, one of our dachshunds ate an orange foam ear plug. We found it the next day (it was 10 years ago but the image is still clear in my mind). We opted not to wash and re-use it. The ear plug, that is.
I can remember scooping up cat poop held together by pieces of a twist tie. When you’ve been owned by cats for over 40 years, there’s not much that can surprise you. By the way, when he’s treating cats, that sign on the wall might as well be Alien Veterinary Center. They do seem like they’re from a different planet sometimes.
We had a dog who liked to chew on old wash cloths. On poop patrol one day, I found a terd with the Cannon label on proud display. No, I failed to take a photo. It was before we had fecesbook.
My cat eats tinsel when she can get it, same with ribbons. She thinks it’s for her. It makes the litter box festive for Christmas. I don’t use tinsel anymore because of this.

I thought he was trying to rewire the cat

Tinsel is dangerous. If it’s eaten, it can cause a blockage in the stomach and intestines, and in some cases this can be fatal.

Looks like it made it through anyway.

Backlight’s on on Christmas for our late wiener dog (not due to that) who loved to steal tinsel-covered chocolate (no problems there, either)…

Is that the cat version of the Ground Hog seeing his shadow?!
The tinsel popped out… looks like six more weeks of summer!

After we thought it was funny, once, we stopped hanging tinsel within reach of the cat. That stuff can cut their insides.

Hi, Bleeb. I had a comment for you, but decided it was too risque.

I wonder what the tinsel strength is after cat digestion. Give it a yank Doc.

This once happened to one of our cats. I had to help her . . . finish getting it out of her body. I wonder if John drew this from personal experience?

Stay up there out of reach, Bleeb. Kitty might need something (or someone) else to replace his tinsel habit!!!!!! :)

This should definitely be used as a PSA. (And I mean “public service announcement” and not “prostate specific antigen”!)

There used to be a Dr. Allen who was a vet around these parts; we got our first dog from him.
Bleeb is wisely staying out of the way. Hi, Bleeb!
