I like how Marcie is being very subliminal there.

Well, it seems they graduated Patty just to get rid of her.

If I can make a clearer interpretation of the meaning of the last panel. To heel means to follow by my side on the journey I am undertaking. Marcie even throws in the respectful pronoun Sir. This means that Marcie agrees she wants to study to become the first woman president, and she would like Peppermint Patty to be her right hand woman to support her along the way.

I’ve given up on a woman president in my lifetime. But miracles happen I suppose. I have about 4 more elections in me.

Marcie has confidence that PP will be a guard dog at the local salvage yard.

Peppermint Patty would be a great president, but that’s not saying much considering all of her predecessors.
