I got to see “Lost Weekend” with Ray Milland. I, too was 5. The only thing i remembered was him hiding the booze in the ceiling light fixture. And the only seat belt I had was my Dad’s arm.

That’t the movie we saw on my first real date, in 1961.

Yep, no seatbelts. My instinctive reaction to having to brake suddenly is to throw my right arm out horizontally in front of the passenger seat even if the only occupant is a grocery bag.

At four years old, I doubt she was paying much attention. She was probably focused on the goodies. My mom went with friends to see it and one of them said she would probably cry because those kind of movies always did. The other friend was like “Oh, c’mon. It’s just a movie. You’re gonna cry over a movie?” Well, guess which one of the friends was literally bawling after West Side Story? She was bawling so much that the one that normally did cry at those movies was too embarrassed to cry. An usher brought the girl a pile of tissues.

My first movie at the movie theatre was "Who framed Roger Rabbit? I was 4 too and still remember a lot about that day. What an amazing experience.

I told them in my class that I wore seat belts half the time. We had six vehicles and three of them had seatbelts. The others were pre seatbelt.

Going back in history, perhaps Robb was unconsciously copying DICK TRACY when Marcy gave birth to the twins in the back seat of Joe’s patrol car.(One of Tracy’s kids was born the same way).
