I just discovered today that I can close my liftgate with a button inside. I’ve had the car 3 years.

I don’t know how he could have missed seeing that oil light. It’s right next to the light that says “Put down your !%$*!! phone and pay attention to the road”.

I borrowed my neighbor’s pickup to get some plywood yesterday, the dash was aglow with “Tire” and “Brake” warnings. His brakes are very spongy. The bad part is it was the same when I borrowed it two years ago. He’s not a maintenance man.

This is why we need “AI” in our cars. To do the “thinking” for us!

My dash keeps saying that my tires are flat. The dealer and I gave up trying to get it to go away. So I deal with it. :)

Yah. And to make matters worse is that those reminders can only be reset at the dealer. But the time intervals have grown. I remember changing the oil and filter every 3,000 miles and now it’s 10,000. (I still check every week and always look for leaks).

I had a Budget rental car this summer with that light on. Told the guy at the counter. He said Budget was at odds with their service provider so they were renting the cars anyway. Don’t buy a used rental car!

Covering it with duct tape gets rid of annoying light.

I’ve known a couple of people who never changed their oil. They made out OK, can’t say the same for the next owners.

Oil changing is greatly overrated. “Car Talk” has two auto experts who have been giving NPR listeners advice for 30 years. One swears by frequent oil changes; the other only changes oil with major tuneups. Neither has been able to demonstrate the supremacy of his position.

Now oil PRESSURE – that indicator should be flashing, screaming and swearing when it gets low.

Our favorite new light, on a recently purchased car, is the one that alerts us to the fact the vehicle in front of us has left the intersection. Sorry, but I don’t rabbit off the light.

Why I wonder, the responsibility for changing the &!!# oil is his and not hers?
