Safe to say, Calvin’s Dad doesn’t envision his wife that way.

Taking a bath is always a stressful adventure, isn’t it?

But Mom, you know I hate baths…..

I wonder what horrors would await Calvin in the shower? In mine, it would probably be that ominous black mold in the corner…

It’s around the time of year that Calvin makes those snow monsters that drive Dad crazy. I never tire of seeing those strips.

Spacebath Spiff…….

You’d be amazed at the number of kids who drown in the bathtub every year.

Nice way to end 2023…here’s hoping that 2024 is a wonderful year for you all!

When the strips like this were first run, I’d put my hand over the last panel or two and try to figure out how Cal’s fantasy met the real world. This was one i got right

Really love when Watterson goes off earth or into fantasy. Makes the dailies much more interesting because one never knows when the spin will happen.

28 years ago today, the last Calvin and Hobbes strip ran. From what I can tell from the subscribers listings on the “About” tab above, C&H is still, far and away, the most popular strip on GoComics.

Sometimes moms can take all the fun out of being a kid.

I never hated baths as a kid, my two boys enjoyed them too, except for the fact bedtime came after.

This feels like what every kid with a great imagination like Calvin’s imaginations thinks about bathtime. A sea adventure.

When I read this as a kid, I liked imagining the mom-creature actually existing on a planet somewhere and reacting this way to anyone who crashed in her ocean – “You’re not too cold? Good, shut yer face!”

“Infernal”- I should use that word more in 2024.
