I am fortunate not to need caffeine. It doesn’t seem to have an effect on me anyway. I don’t really like the taste of normal coffee either. But I very much enjoy a good espresso. Any time of day. Usually in the afternoon and / or evening. Turkish coffee, too.
I haven’t ventured to drink coffee yet tbh. A Dr Pepper is enough to take the edge off tiredness. One time I drank three Dr Peppers and I literally felt mildy high. I could still feel it the next day, and I was sweating all that night. I can’t imagine what an actual coffee would do to me with how sensitive I am to caffeine.
Once in Panama I nodded off while teaching a guitar lesson to a very skilled student – I was buzzing with coffee nerves while struggling to stay conscious. I woke up babbling absolute nonsense in Spanish, still playing the guitar. He had to have noticed.
Caffeine does nor really give you more concentration and awareness but enables one to shift it to a more convenient time. At a certain point, it stops working and it is time to lie down .
Coffee was banned in parts of the Middle East when it was first discovered. Elders did not want young people up at odd hours “plotting” and dragging into work late the next day.

He’s so semi-conscious that he doesn’t remember that he did this not long ago.

Horace needs to do some stretches while his coffee is brewing and practice good posture among other things…!

There’s a fine line between feeling a nice coffee buzz and (takes another sip) feeling shaky and agitated.
