I have never heard of coyote time, and so I did a search. Per Wiktionary: “(animation, video games) A brief delay between an action and the consequences of that action that has no physical cause and exists only for comedic or gameplay purposes.”

I’m sure cartoonists have a name for the plumes in the last panel.
