My last “manager” wouldn’t (couldn’t) give me any guidance because he said “that would be doing my job”. I quit (strategically just before a major event) shortly after.
No matter how “perfect” the store is, they will find plenty to criticize. As for finding your own replacement, the store where I work is so understaffed – that’s not even possible.
I shared this particular strip to a friend of mine on facebook that used to be a grocery checker for a Kroger’s owned chain in the Pacific NW, she told me that she follows it on fb as well and that this particular story arc was why she left, that K corporate is so draconian it’s not even funny, even going so far as to refuse promised pandemic pay bonuses because they kept failing surprise store inspections over pure bs, one woman got a write up for having a bottle of water at her register, even though the store manager allowed it.

If that’s the worse she could come up with, I’d consider it a win.

Really? Are the acrylic holders specified in the corporate Management Standards Handbook?
What? That will be in the NEXT revision? So it’s not “official” yet? (yeah, that’ll get you demoted. ;) )

Oops, is that a typo? “They will AS you to find a replacement” Should it be ASK?
