Like most of its ilk, its value is transitory. Can’t cook with it. Can’t hunt with it. Can’t protect yourself with it.

Now that more people understand that diamonds aren’t that rare or valuable, natural gemstones like rubies, emeralds and opals have increased in value. I went shopping for a birthstone bracelet for my wife’s birthday and was wearing a ruby ring handed down from my grandfather. The jeweler offered me two diamond rings for it. I declined the offer. DeBeers and the modern cabal can go suck it.
