I took an Uber to the hospital a couple of years ago when I had a heart attack. Why did I summon Uber rather than call an ambulance? Eh… Trauma makes us do weird stuff. The sweet little Uber lady arrived at my house in less than five minutes. She asked me if she was to be taking me to a “fun place” on “this beautiful Spring morning.” I said I needed to be taken to the emergency room of the local hospital because I was apparently having a cardiac crisis. She got me there promptly. And yes, I gave her a nice cash tip. And all went smoothly….
I just viewed a brief YouTube video showing that Bible that was auctioned for $38 million. It was hand-written (not printed) on animal skin (not paper) and was said to be the first Hebrew Bible assembled as a book with covers and pages (not a scroll). As has been pointed out above, the Torah is a part (5 of the books) of the entire multi-book Old Testament. Parts of the many versions of “Holy Scriptures” now recognized as the Old and New Testaments were originally written in Aramaic, Hebrew and Greek and then translated into other languages (often with mistakes or questionable choices). I have never heard a Jew (and I am Jewish) object to the words “Hebrew Bible.” But since Bible can refer to so very many different translated collections of ancient writings, we tend to use more specific terms to refer to the ones considered sacred by people of our religion. This is a complex subject, so any brief summary such as mine is likely to contain ambiguities or inaccuracies. I welcome corrections by anyone with more knowledge about all of this.

The original Bible was written in Hebrew and translated to English by King James I…hense the “King James Version” of the Bible.
