Basta basta expresses what I think about the overload of emails sent! The only way to be able to get anything done is to turn off email.

As of 2024, I’d have to wonder how many E-mails Cathy would have total?

For fourteen years I worked like that. But…I completed the work orders without printing a single page, Just responded “Order completed” and sent it. My co-workers had desks filled with papers and mine was clean!

A similar commentary could be made about social media. People complain about the time it takes up in our lives, yet they can’t seem to stop checking it. Thankfully, I’m not one of those. I don’t care about most of it. It’s usually the younger folks who grew up with it that will struggle harder. And in the defense of email, at least it usually serves a purpose (at least in business).

Hello Cathy friends! Happy Tuesday! Have a great day, all!

I sit down for an hour or two in the morning and read my comics, then check my E-mail and Facebook. Then I leave it until the next day. My husband uses the computer for the rest of the day.

My life is pretty much run by email but I do not check it regularly – only when finished the current task. I prefer emails over other methods of communication as I can ignore them until I have the time. Some people have sent me texts looking for immediate answers – that they did not get. I ignore my phone most of the time and don’t usually have it anywhere near me unless I am in the car – and then I do not answer anything until I am stopped. Besides, typing or even voice input on a phone is a painful exercise when you are used to a full size keyboard.

This strip does illustrate well that nothing has changed in the last two decades – well some changes, we now have texts and social media as well as email but the problem is the same.

    Have a fun Tuesday.

If I could just get the text messages to stop. Like 200 a day.

These days most of the emails I get are asking for contributions to political campaigns, day after day after day … I just delete them all before getting down to my important task for the day, checking out my favorite comics on GC and writing the occasional witty comment.

Yup—my e-mail inbox is pretty much overflowing. Never enough time to read ’em all.

    HI, MOM. Hello, “Cathy” Clan.
