aw :( that’s exactly what I didn’t want to happen, her rolling her eyes at Nate… I hoped it’d be more wholesome or that she’d frame it like another commenter had said. Then Nichols would be a bit jealous hahaha

well, apart from todays strip this week was amazing! i really enjoyed it. hopefully we’ll see more of Nate’s comics going forward

Her nose looks the same?? I know we need a punchline, but what an unnecessary one, especially when it’s not even true! Can’t have the wholesome moment, Peirce?

8\10 for most of the strip, 4\10 for the gag, split down the middle, that’s 6\10. Good arc though!

What utter nonsense! Nate didn’t exaggerate her nose in any way whatsoever – I double-checked yesterday’s strip and the truth is that he went out of his way to draw her as nicely as possible with none of the comic exaggerations which he employs when drawing Marty, Ellen or Ms. Godfrey. Why distort facts in such a pointless way to rob the reader of the wholesome moment which they were waiting for? Nate worked so hard on his comics and had the nicest of intentions.

I think it’d be a lot funnier of the punchlinr is something like: Mrs Shipulski: Nate, this is so sweet! …But for your sake you better not show this to anyone else in the faculty.The punchline being that she appreciates it but he’ll get in trouble if anyone else sees the comics. So we still get a joke that doesn’t take away the wholesomeness

Umm, what’s wrong with it?

Strip rating: 6/10 Some people really enjoyed this arc, because it was a nice return to Nate’s comics. However, I’m not one of those people. I always found Nate’s comic humor to be rather dull and exaggerated. I never really liked these kinds of arcs. The comics belong in the Sundays, not during the week.

BUT HEY THATS JUST A THEORY —

Big Nate: First Class is the last entry in my follow list. I didn’t know why I felt strange when I’d finished the list yesterday.

This was a wonderful week—loved the old-school mixed in. Great job Mr. Peirce.

Where is the exaggeration??? Unless this is some joke about the art between the actual strip and Nate’s comics, I don’t see it.
