One of things that I like about most American comic strips is that most of them retained their art style if you show people recurring characters from American comic strips they will tell you the name of the comic strip because of the art style even if they forgot the name of the recurring characters.
Sadly, this is not the case with most of new American animation, Anime influenced American animation is making most American animation look the same and killing diverse original art styles of animation.
Garfield once tried to look cute in front of Liz after being pressured by Nermal into doing so, only for Liz to mistake Garfield’s attempts at looking cute for eating a sick mouse.
