The wolf appears to be sauntering. Maybe he’s not after the sheep. Maybe he was going to try but then saw he wasn’t fast enough. Or maybe he’s taking the human approach: endurance over speed.
A sheep farmer I know has no issue with wolves. Coyotes and feral dogs are the real menace. She also raises burros to watch the flocks. They can punt a coyo into the next county.
