I recently saw a TikTok of a couple that nursed a sick squirrel back to health, for weeks. When they released him back into the wild, in a grassy park area, he didn’t make it 20 feet from the animal carrier before a hawk swooped down and got him. Moral Don’t release small animals in the open, where they have no cover. (Squirrels need trees.)

Nature is a cruel mistress, but a weasel’s gotta eat too! And besides, it’s always good to reality check Gary.

For so many Nazis who thought they were safe and had gotten away,l scot-free, he was just that. He was the Wiesel of their shattered dreams.

Is it the “Gary Jinx” or is it the “Walking with Leopold Curse”? Only the wild weasel knows for sure!
