My daughter loved those things. She got them as gifts for a while. Now the grandkids play with them.

My “pet rocks” destroyed my beanie babies and my baseball cards.

Or they understood popular culture too well.

Cabbage Patch Kids, Beanie Babies, pet rocks……a few others…..never got into any of them.

I imagine they may do well as collectibles.

Only pirates from a country like Id would bury such “treasure”.

About 25 years ago when we had our first child my brother in law began buying our (eventual) three kids Beanie Babies with the message that, “In 25 years these things will pay their entire college tuition”. I laughed at him behind his back and my wife (his sister) scolded me for being rude. In the meantime, I bought all three kids into a 529 plan, which has paid off.
