The Brazilian Candiru, also known as a toothpick fish or vampire fish is a species of freshwater catfish. Beware!! They have been known to enter the urethras of bathers and swimming animals so be sure to keep your bathing suit tight!
I have snorkeled at 40 feet and deeper. In crystal clear waters in the Bahamas where you could see the bottom at 75 feet. I think ron45wells is spot on and Ripley’s needs an editor.
Well, the way I’ve heard it, that’s not the only place where the Brazilian candirú gets up to! Watch out, guys. In fact, between the candirü and the piranha, restrict your Brazilian swimming to swimming pools, eh? Filtered ones!

he didn’t find any such thing! Snorkeling 40’ underwater? AND the river is too muddy to see anything beyond 3’

While staying at the lighthouse, is one expected to clean the Fresnel lens and top off the oil supply to the light?

The lighthouse is 20 miles west of the Straits of Mackinac. The current at that point flows into Lake Huron.
