That’s right, Earl, just use your wife’s labor and hog it all for yourself. I can’t stand such selfishness! You owe her big time.

Earl is the most considerate husband imaginable. Opal should be proud to be married to such a considerate person. If she had baked two pies, he would probably have tried to been considered with both.

I ate an entire mincemeat pie last night (though it was a 5 inch diameter mini-pie).

My favorite pie but when I make it for myself, I only make the filling. I’m not a crust person and would rather make ice cream the extra calories.

When Earl gives Opal a compliment like that, he expects her to blush and say “I try”.
