We innocently visited a potential customer who was a contractor for the military and one of the engineers in our visiting group was not a U.S. citizen. He was a key contributor to our product. The security guys went a little overboard. The foreigner was banned from visiting our customer yet knew all the details of the design and its application. That company bought product and probably sold materiel to his government…..
Security at our manufacturing facility was lax. One guy we saw frequently walking through the shop turned out to be merely taking a short cut to his real job at another place. And several times little kids would wander past the guards on second shift to sell cookies or band candy to guys running machinery. My small plastic lunch box was always searched, while women with large satchels were not.
On occasion, I’d get turned around at the Pentagon and joked that if I wanted to get out by the most direct route, all I had to do was trash my visitor’s badge. Someone will gladly escort me out.

Sadly, thieves will find a reason to steal THAT, too.

He does not want to keep it as a souvenir. Everywhere he goes, they’ll think he’s just visiting.

I can imagine the Pentagon is not a place where they take jokes that well.
