Naps are wasted on the young. My son relishes his naps. He will come to me and tell me “Daddy, I am tired!” That is code speak for “Let’s go take a nap together!” Who am I to tell him “No!?”
When I was a kid, my parents made me go to bed at 9 PM. I vowed that when I was a grownup, I would stay up as late as I wanted to! Turns out, it’s 9 PM!

It is/was a punishment it you were told to go to bed or to your room (and that you had to stay there).

Punishment? Boring, maybe. It definitely was for me, since I am physically incapable of sleeping during the daytime under normal circumstances.

When raising my kids, I called it “quiet time” and they went to their rooms and did a quiet game or read or sleep. ☺️

Children then needed the rest to recharge, now adults need that sleep. For me I hate when hits as I want to sleep at nights.

I consider it a necessity.
