It’s too bad that Peirce seems to keep himself back from exploring beyond his comfort zone. Just when Gina was starting to have more depth as a character and a new side to her was being opened up which was not unsympathetic to the reader – just when some of us here felt that the strip was moving in a new direction and Nate and the gang were evolving in a refreshingly interesting way – it’s back to Nate’s smelly shoes again and Gina’s broken heart and insecurity are left abandoned. I was really hoping for the Gina arc to last a number of weeks a la the Peppermint Patty arcs in Peanuts. It was interesting to see Gina thinking of Ms Godfrey in a new light and seeking agreement from Nate, and I wanted to see more of that. I also wanted to see whether Chad would finally become aware of Gina’s feelings for him. Finally, it would have been nice to see Gina talking her troubles of the heart over with Daphne.
i love leaving comments in random strips all over the big nate timeline, its crazy when a random guy replies to you like 5 months later— sometimes 5 years later :)
…can’t keep ‘em in the freezer a few days…….THAT doesn’t really kill off all the bacteria, like many folks think….can’t boil ‘em in water, either…THAT’LL likely kill everything, but…………Nate, it’s time to bury ‘em somewhere in the back yard, and petition dad for a new pair (it’s not asking for …..a dog, y’know)…..
6/10, while I like the joke, I don’t think this is going to lead to something interesting. Fingers crossed that I’m wrong! Also, I forgot to do this yesterday, but the answer to my Wordle is brick, and congrats to JPuzzleWhiz for getting it correct!
Guys now that every one is retiring from being a Gc comic reviewer i will be the new gen comic reviewer wish me luck guys. anyways here today’s comic rating
7.5 this idea about nates stinky shoes is kind of repetitive but it will do, have a great day and see you tomorrow
Nate has a girlfriend. He should reform his ways in order to keep her. Sam Cooke. “By being an A student, baby….” What a wonderful world this would be…

At least it’s Nate’s feet… not “somewhere behind” him!! But his sneakers are revolting against him!

Nate’s philosophy is ‘love me, love my dogs’.

What’s weird is that it’s Nate’s feet themselves that reek and not the shoes. I’m also surprised nobody is gagging or fainting yet.

Paraphrased from MAD Magazine:
“Your shoes are like a garbage dump,
But heck, why should you mind it?
It’s us who get it in the schnoz,
You get to stand behind it!"
(The bold part was originally “breath is”.)
