Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
I’ve kept several that my wife has given me over the years. One of my favorites is a Garfield-like cat in a Smoky Bear hat walking up to a car. The caption is “Do you have any idea how fast you were going over that hill?”
A million years ago Mad Magazine had a little “kit” on a page where you could cut out and paste the words “from” and “to” over “to” and “from” so a card could be resent. There were probably more on the page, but that one I remember seeing. As far as I am concerned, in most cases the card is just to identify who is getting a gift and who gave it.
One year after Christmas, I bought a box of 50 Christmas cards for about one or two dollars. Since I generally only send out five or six Christmas cards, and only to those, I have received a card from, I had almost 10 years of Christmas cards left. Also, some charities will send you a dozen or so Christmas cards or get well cards or happy birthday cards in hopes that you would send them a donation!

It’s either sentimental, or cheap.

When you have to remind someone that it’s their birthday, it’s lost its meaning.
