I’m sure there will be a few jokes told during this labor action.

Some people in my Uni did laugh at the TA’s who striked. Other TA’s complained about the timing, which was bad for a lot of students.

How long have there been TA’s in colleges? They weren’t around when I was a co=ed,

But, maybe then, it was believed that if a student was smart enough to get into college, he/she didn’t need any “assistance”.

With Zipper around, solid hilarity is a given.

the problem with this is the short job tenure a ta is only there a year or two.

The kids will just start going to the scab TAs.

It’s pretty much ‘cause he didn’t pay too much attention in class, when he was there, that is.

The other category is nontenured instructors, who are even more poorly paid and teach the majority of courses in many colleges, including those without TAs.

“Slave labor” either as interns or Teaching Assistants is not good for anyone. Do you really want smart young people turning to crime to cover their basic expenses?

“It works either way — that’s all that matters.”

You just thought they were professors.

The raise I get, but TAs have the same healthcare as every other student.

TA is “teaching assistant,” which I had at the state university, because the Professor was assigned to lecture only. I thought Big Paul was some sort of dorm boss.
