Right, and how many people did Ed indirectly murder during this run? Setting a record should be easy as long as you let people literally die in your wake, like he admitted to doing here: gocomics.com/crankshaft/2023/09/30
Also I guess today’s joke makes total sense because apparently there’s only one single-lane road that runs from Colorado to Ohio. Interstate 80 doesn’t exist. OK.
We used to play in the police golf tournament. They had prizes for closest to the pin and longest drive. The running gag was, you had to play AFTER a certain chief to have a shot t winning.
How many weeks in a row on this ludicrous scenario? I guess Ed was subsequently arrested for kidnapping the schoolchildren, being that he had them for days.
True story: almost forty years ago I had to go to Traffic School (reasons redacted on the advice of my attorney). One of the other people in the class was a school bus driver, who had been ticketed for 45 mph in a 20 mph school zone… while driving the school bus. Her excuse was that since the kids were on the bus, it was safe for her to be going that fast. The judge did not agree.

At least Crankhead did it on a Sunday. Now did the school district make him pay for his private misuse of public property?

An accomplishment to be proud of. Did Grandma Johnson have to run all the way to Colorado?

Well at least we have a few token bricks in panel two. Better than the implied ones on Thursday.

1362 miles???

All you need is a 2 lane road in morning rush hour. This is stupid. And how come they don’t make Ed verify his record?

Look how happy Ed’s boss is that he inconvenienced 51 people, and went way out of his way to do it, all while NOT doing the job he’s paid to do!

Colorado state highway 17 is absolutely straight, no curves, for 50 plus miles.
