I especially love the “You’re not really going to wear that out in public are you?” comment. Or the embarrassment saving “You have a waver – crusty in your left nostril.” comment.
Possibly things will be better for the coming generations, but one of the reasons why wives try to get husbands to dress neatly and “appropriately” is because they [the wives] are the ones who get it thrown in their faces when hubbies look like slobs. Wives are criticized [to their faces and also behind their backs] if their hubbies are overweight or under-exercised. Wives and mothers are also the ones blamed if the house or yard isn’t tidy or if the kids are unruly. Wives and mothers are frequently told to take better care of their spouses and kids. When hubby ends up going to the hospital with chest pains, “she” is the one who wasn’t taking good care of him [even though he is buying junk food and eating it at the office]. When kids get into trouble “she” is the one who “lets them run wild.”
Even single men, when they dress “poorly” or look sloppy and out of condition, the comment is generally that “he doesn’t have a wife to take care of him.” Never heard that about a single woman [most of the comments about single women refer to her needing a different kind of help from a man].
Maybe for the next generation, society will come to realize that if women are expected to figure out how to dress and act on their own, men could be held to the same standard [It’s not really that high a bar].
Played Easter Bunny today for some kids. After I was done, I realized I had the costume on wrong. The suspenders built into the pants were to go over the fuzzy shirt. I don’t think anyone noticed. See if I remember to get it right next year.
Darn good thing for me. I went to check the mail in my boxers and my wife heard about it from the neighbors. I’m not allowed to check the mail anymore. And a military inspection before we go out. No one told me that stripes and polka dots don’t match, look fine to me.
Just out of curiosity – has anyone else had this problem -
Starting yesterday I would be unable to post some comments and I would get a notice that urls are not allowed. I did not have any in my posts. I finally figured out by copying and saving my posts and reposting them in pieces that if there is a slash mark in one’s post it is apparently considered to be a url by GoComics. It just happened again as I forgot not to use a slash mark which is why I am asking.

A wife not only decorates the house but also guides her husband in his outfit.

It’s a good thing my wife was looking over my head and spotted two spots on top of my head. Dermatologist biopsy found they were both melanomas.

My husband is the one that does this to me all the time so I guess there is always at least ‘one’ person in the relationship doing it lol.

Husband drips food on his shirt and then hangs it back in the closet. I have to remember what he wore and put it in the laundry.

And in many cases, that’s a good thing – such as when my dad showed up in his spiffy brand-new suit for sis’s wedding without having cut the tags off…
