That’s what you get for running away from an arrest warrant from the Environmental Protection Agency. They make you sleep in the pouring rain inside a cardboard box. Well, at least they allow you some protection from the environment, Linus’ baby blanket. They aren’t all that bad!
Today there would have been an Amber Alert issued days ago. Even in the “free range” 1960s 8 years did not just wander out of the neighborhood and go for miles. Likely he is just a block or two from home.
Charlie is more of a team manager with these little kids than he is back home. There he’s a player and coach who insists on being the pitcher, whether he’s any good or not. Here he finds someone else for the pitcher and he just coaches.
An odd thing just occured. I had used a forward slash between player and coach instead of the “and” and gocomics said I couldn’t use urls in my comments.

Many great baseball managers were poor or average players at best. You’ve found your niche, Charlie Brown.

Biting a tree isn’t such a bad offence. You’ll probably just do some community service work. Much better than sleeping in the rain! Go home, Charlie!

He needs one of those little nylon pop up tents like all the bums in New York City and San Francisco have. Maybe find a nice, cozy highway underpass.

I’ve heard of people who had to live in their car for while until they weresuccessful, a car would be better than a cardboard box.

Charlie Brown’s soliloquies have such depth and are sometimes downright inspiring. Alas, when he has an audience he’s not nearly so expressive.
