I expected more comments about the various “Gens.”
So as a boomer here I sit with my coke bottle glasses (does anyone even get that reference anymore?), drooling on my keyboard, wetting my pants, with my walker with the tennis balls on the bottom next to my chair and um what was I saying?
Age discrimination is real. I intended the above to be tongue and cheek and my apologies to people who may have infirmaries like those I mentioned above. Getting older isn’t for wimps and not all of us have had the luck to have escaped the ravages of time.
However, in everything from job applications, to politics, to TV advertisements – this is the way people see my generation: over the hill, demented, doddering and feeble. We have nothing left to contribute, and we are a drain on society. We should just “get out of the way” both on the highway and in life.
It’s easy to classify people by stereotype than it is to evaluate them as individual people.
Of course, I thought differently when I was a young man.

Still waiting to see the first robin in MN in spite of our warmest winter ever, but we did have a ladybug in our house last week.
