Sure. In Portuguese, it’s “Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Saturday, and Sunday”. Blame the French Revolution for that.

Except for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, the days of the week are named after Norse gods. Well, the Vikings did invade England.

Wednes? Never saw it abbreviated like that it’s usually Wed. But I get what Greg is doing using the first letters and dropping the “day”

Tuesday comes from the Old English tīwesdæg, meaning “Tiu’s day.” Tiu was a Germanic god of the sky and war. His equivalent in Norse mythology is Tyr.

I guess we’re doing this: it’s Tiw’s (or Týr’s) Day. Followed by Odin’s Day, Thor’s Day, Freya’s Day, Saturn’s Day, and the Sun’s Day.

I have worked with people from New Zealand and Australia, who pronounced the first ‘d’ and made it three syllables, “Wed-nes-day”
