A friend had a basset who became my very best friend, then crossed the rainbow bridge about 3 1/2 years ago. They found a breeder and got a new puppy 3 years ago [it’s the pup’s birthday today] who actually seems to have many of the same attributes as the first including a great friendship with me. Almost like he was “trained” by the previous dog.

This is in contrast to the strip in which Red asked Rover what he liked most and least about being a dog. What Rover claimed to like least was the thought of having to wait in Heaven for years before Red joins him there. Perhaps he doesn’t see going to Heaven as dying.

Ask a cat

I don’t think Rover is planning on going anywhere anytime soon.

You boys are just fine where you are. Now, get outside and play!

Noooo! Never!!!!

Maybe they should talk about the “first life”!!!!!

Life is too short to worry about such things! Live now, my little darlings!

The answer to death is not reincarnation, but resurrection. With a brand new body that will never suffer pain, or die!

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23

Nobody dies in this strip. No Farley. No one ages. Perfect.

My father once said that, when he died, if he could come back as something, he’d want to come back as a flower. Then, he could be a…wait for it…rein-carnation.

Rover has no concept of death. He believes he will be with Red forever.

That’s not happening, ROVER

Chase any more small animals and Rover will come back as a squirrel.

Well, it happened for George Washington and Lincoln and Franklin. They came back as money. As did other dead presidents and historical figures in the USA.

Red, you going to be sorry to say that because when that day comes you will have a broken heart.

Rover, and dogs in general, do not understand the concept of dying, let alone the idea of reincarnation. The knowing of dying is Man’s Doom.

This got concerning real fast.

Dogs come to us with open hearts. When they leave us they take a piece of our heart. After a long life your heart becomes all dog

Don’t dwell on it, Rover …… you’ll be around for quite awhile …… got a lot of playing with Red, yet to do ….. ;)
