I never understood why people would record a concert unless they were in the front row. Just try to find it on the internet so you get a better quality of video.
Ralph’s look speaks volumes here. I would likely have the exact same look if I were there at the concert. Enjoy the moment personally and let it move you. Don’t detract from it by recording every single moment of it!
No if you go to concerts, at least since about 2001 from my experience, you quickly realize that there a lot of the people in the audience think that THEY are the show and not what’s going on, on the stage, sad, but true !
After living in Marin County, the land of psychoanalysts, I had a vision of a charismatic pop psychologist giving a public lecture. There were thousands of people in the audience with their phones extended outward and upward in their right hands.
All of them were chanting, "Seek Help! Seek Help! Seek Help!
I read that the younger generations are more into experiences than things but they seem to spend most of there time recording on their thing (a phone) rather than experiencing what they are at
I just Bob Dylan for the umpteenth time in Clearwater last night and he was brilliant as usual Bob has a no cell phone policy for his shows. When you walk into the venue, you have to deposit your phone in a lockable bag which you keep in your possession and then they unlock as you leave. It worked really well. The beauty of it was that without phones, people were actually talking to each other in the lobby, and paying very close attention to the music. At first I thought it was just Bob being his usual curmudgeonly self, but it turned out that it was a much more enjoyable experience.

What I find sad is that if people see someone in trouble, rather than helping them out, they’ll start to film it instead so they can post it online.
