McConnell ain’t leaving the Senate, unless he gets so many more freezes he’ll miss votes.
If that happens, the anti-abortion party of Trump will challenge appointment of his replacement and try to run out the clock or get it to the Republican Supreme Court.
The grounds for doing so will resemble Rudy’s allegations of fraud but it won’t matter.
Actually it wasn’t unanimous, John-John just made it look that way. Mitch had several opportunities to make things right, but he was seriously lacking in ethics and courage and too in love with power.
But they judged nothing about trump’s guilt or innocent for his crimes but only that congress has never set up a system to implement the 14th amendments procedures.
Whenever you feel like the verdict was wrong, think about it as if it were the person you back. It was the logical, constitutional, and correct decision. States should not be able to ban anyone from the election, even if he is accused in a crime. Even if he has been found guilty of fraud and sexual assault. The people of the USA have to be the ones to refuse to vote for a person, and no one should not be allowed that right, even if they, by some twisted logic, choose to vote for the most vile public figure in American history. And, Trump hasn’t actually gained anything. Do you in your wildest dreams think that any of the states that were able to get him off the ballot were going to vote for him anyway?
You really need to listen to what the old-timers really mean, when, after a lifetime of time and experience (or wrecking democracy, like Mitch), they’re being laconic in telling their retrospection of their life events. Por exemplo, something I overheard, in a late-night diner, groggy on the road, a grizzled, seasoned cop said as an aside to his rookie officer that night: “Crap. Ya never wanna be bested by someone who’s doing what they shouldn’t be doing.” But then (I’m thinking), How ya gonna learn new tricks, or pass it on?
And then he said, after a few moments as an afterthought, “So whaddya gonna do when the status ain’t quo no mo?”
Indeed. Whaddya gonna do? Roll over and let the MAGAs destroy our democracy and turn it into a gigantic cesspool of corruption? He11 NO!
With both Trump and Biden having bitter haters, I foresee a highly divided Nation should they run against each other again this November election. Really sad.
Maybe we should ask how Mitch’s Chinese wife (Elaine Chao) got away with being awarded a high level government employee (specifically, Secretary of Transportation) from Uncle Daddy tЯц☭p, and made off with hundreds of millions of lucrative, no-bid government contracts for her family’s shipping companies… and then totally bailed out before tЯц☭p was kicked out of office.
We could also inquire about Vladimir Putin bestowing the giftie of a billion-dollar aluminum plant in Kentucky, in a classic Russian political infiltration / subversion scheme.
But of course, it’s a classic IOKIYAR case that is totally ignored by the usual MAGA freaks.

It was unanimous, including judges usually leaning to both the right and left.

The SC overlooked that the House already impeached Trump for insurrection in Jan. 2021. What more was needed?

Maybe you can tell me why after seeing this political cartoon a picture of a smiling cat leaving it’s litter box after a big poop came to mind.

Myrtle the Turtle is going to pasture, and Gov. DeWine verbally beats up a Redpublican running for the Senate in Ohio! What a week this was!
