Here is the problem: Three thousand years, give or take, of hard-wired DNA has humans programmed to get even; if one side has gained an advantage, the fighting continues until things are perceived to be even. Israel has just created a thousand years of Palestinian terrorists…and lost a lot of support around the world, all to protect Netanyahoo.
Hamas emulating the Haganah, Irgun Awaileumi and Lohamei Herut who set the standards of conduct in the Middle East bigotry war, driven by greed and using religion as an excuse.
This is in no way about revenge. It will be enough when Hamas is eradicated to the last man and the hostages released or recovered.
What I don’t get is the over the top criticism of Israel. Any other nation would have done the same and some would be far worse than Israel in this regard. Across the Middle East there has literally hundreds of thousand innocent civilian deaths and most of those were deliberately targeted. It seems that Muslims slaughtering Muslims is acceptable but God forbid the collateral damage and deaths by Israel rooting out Hamas. I guess it’s like big blue city black on black crimes and murder which seems to be acceptable but if a cop (black or white) shoots a black criminal in the line of duty all hael breaks loose.
