    I’ve never quite understood the desire for pickups. It’s an American thing. Of course for people in construction, yard maintenance, etc. it’s sensible work vehicle, but all those urban ones. Increasingly they’re bases for campers and trailers which are now people’s homes.

    I have a Honda Civic. For the odd time I need to haul something I rent a pickup at Lowes for $20. But then I don’t feel the need to have a giant diesel pickup covered in flags of my favorite political candidate. Compensating for anything?

    Around here, pickups are sometimes used to bully everyone else. I don’t refer to the slow, inept drivers. They are not picky as to whom they bully. I just try to stay out of the way.
