The scammers are mostly ‘from’ the IRS or CRA at this time of year.

What I don’t get is where they get “polls” from.

Why of course, I’d love to take a survey!

why are people answering their phones at 2-4 am ….if the call isn’t in my contacts they don’t get through…people need to be in charge of THEIR phones…NOT the phones in charge of the people…

Or they just don’t answer at those hours. I generally don’t wake up to answer the phone at such times, though mostly because I’m just too dead to the world by that time.

If you do old style surveying based on the North Star, then you would have to do it at night.

I always remind myself that the polls are the result of people who answer these calls.

Why don’t you call them back, Hoace, and ask why they hate phone surveys at that time. I’m sure they would love to give you an answer!

Has any Telco or Cell service provider ever had difficulty identifying its users to BILL them ? Of course not. Yet they testify before regulating agencies that they have extreme difficulty identifying spammers, while providing the means to spoof numbers and even the equipment to do it and COLLECT THE REVENUE. Regulators smile with a wink and nod while accepting the bribes. IMHO
