When someone is not focused on you then begin with, and you are talking to someone else, then shift to speaking to them, do not be expect a response.

As Gary Larson (The Far Side) once suggested, all the cat is hearing is “Food…Food….Food…Food…”

Ludwig is waiting for Janis to utter the magic words, “Dinner time!”

Pets don’t care what words we say, other than those that mean something good or bad for them, just as we don’t when we can’t understand what the person is saying. Everybody cares about tone of voice.

When you live with someone for a long time it seems you don’t pay attention as much because you’ve heard it all before. Love is crazy but gotta have it in your life, aside from any difficulties.

Ludwig wasn’t listening to the birds, he was thinking about how they’d taste.

I don’t know if my two cats understand what I’m saying. But they love to be talked to. and they will answer me, as if we’re having a real conversation. Of course, I know they understand certain words like “treat”.

I have chatty cats. Often they begin the conversation.

Cat: “Get to the part about treats.”

Not sure what is ironic. Is it that the cat listens to her better than Arlo does?
