For my sons, they’ve had a space ship and a car made out of cardboard boxes. They played in them for ages until they basically fell apart. There was one time we bought them a big castle toy which came in a huge box. After about 5 mins of playing with the toy, the then spent the rest of the day playing in the box. It wasn’t until after the box had broken apart did they go back to the toy again. We could have made Christmas a lot cheaper, thinking about it.
Many moons ago, we got a washer/dryer set. Great boxes…except they were blue and it rained and the blue was not water-resistant until it came in contact with skin.

Cardboard boxes are the greatest toy ever invented.
If you don’t believe me, ask any cat.

Because, unlike you, we have an imagination.

Okay, kids, what’s the logo on the end of the box?

We’d make robot costumes out of boxes and vinyl dryer flex tubing. Didn’t look much different than the robots on TV at the time.
