I know a grooming place that would have a window screen laid on top of the tub. The cat would be placed on the screen, doused with a bucket of cold water, and scrubbed easily once its claws were engaged in the screen.
We had a cat once that loved bath times. You couldn’t run the water with him in the room. For some reason that scared him away for the moment. Noise maybe? But once it was run, I would call him in there and he would hop into the tub and wait to be doused and scrubbed. I referred to him as my dog in a cat suit.
When our cat got skunk-sprayed I got a 5 gallon bucket, filled it with warm water, added some dish soap and a tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide then dropped the cat into my fishing net, gave it a spin to hold him in, and gave him several good dunkings in the bucket. After dumping him out of the net and giving him a good toweling he was as good as new except instead being black he was a dark chocolate color after the peroxide had bleached him a bit. Best of all no scratches!
Smart cat owners get acquainted with Purretios and oversized handbags. Purretios for pill giving and you cut holes in an old handbag for head, legs and tail then use the bag handles to hang the cat up over the sink. Then give the cat a small towel to sink his claws into while bathing the cat.
I had a Siamese who had to be wrapped in a towel and held by two people just to wash his head. As far as I could tell, he was able to get traction on air molecules.
Well this is funny…not sure if an algorithm played a part in this or if it’s strictly coincidence, but an ad that popped up above the comic was for a pet hospital, and an ad that popped up below it was for United Healthcare insurance…LOL!!
Tried to trim my GFs cat’s claws (did my own cat’s with no problem). A real fighter, and the only way was if she was in the right mood, and we’d wrap her like a purrito.
When I first glanced at today’s comic, I must have looked from the right first. I was thinking, “Hm. That is what the scene would look like if she tried to bathe a cat.” Then I saw the bottle of cat shampoo.

For pets that need medication…ask the vet if the medicine can be compounded. Easier to give it to them as a with flavoring.

Vets are now offering cat shampoos with clotting agents to help control your bleeding.

After seeing the size of the shampoo bottle I’m wondering how big the cat was. :)

I think that’s why you really don’t give cats baths. Unless, they really, really, really need it. LOL.
