Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
I worked the night shift and could sleep through lawnmowers, snowblowers, and other typical loud noises, but I couldn’t sleep through two neighbors shouting to say “Hello” from four or five houses apart.
The guy in the dorm room next to me at Ohio State circa 1975ish was a huge Led Zeppelin fan. One night he came home totally trashed and put on an 8 track tape of Houses of the Holy at full volume He promptly passed out and the track looped all night. The cinderblock walls were absolutely no defense against that noise.
While attending Business School, I was invited to stay at the YWCA with some friends also going to my school. I don’t think I got four hours of sleep the whole week I stayed there. We had parties in the middle of the night and studied together until about one in the morning. It was partly fun and, now that I think of it, I wonder how I did it in my early twenties!
By the way, Michael, you’ve been in the dormitory since September last year and that is not 6 months. Try 9 months. You can tell he is majoring in journalism, which does not involve math or fact-checking.

Actually, my dorm at USC wasn’t really noisy. Of course, that was 60 years ago. Sigh!

Um, are those “symbols” penetrating Mike’s door Elly cursing at Elizabeth? Or Elizabeth cursing at April?
howtheduck 10 months ago
STUFF? What could that possibly be that Elizabeth does not want Elly to know about it?

Elizabeth definitely inherited her mother’s mouth!

I spent the summer of 1978 in a dorm, and I don’t ever want to do it again.

When I went to school, I was blessed to be able to live with my parents. The school was maybe a 20 minute drive away.

Clueless and insensitive as always. Your children are growing up, Cru-Elly, you should try it sometime!
