Bedding plants are easy to grow and require little maintenance. As for myself, I find gardening a little easier if I have a healthy, strong child willing to help me do the heavy lifting. Too bad Elly doesn’t have one of those.

More fun to grow from seed.

Plants are easier than seeds but more expensive and not as much fun. Also, the fun starts a lot earlier in the year with seeds.

Of course, she wouldn’t THINK of asking John or Mike and his buddies for help! Elly, the martyr!! BTW, wasn’t Lawrence already a professional landscaper?

Wait ’til Edgar gets into them! LOL.

What does she mean easy way? Because she doesn’t start with seeds?

Children of today are woefully ignorant of gardening.

April is not the brightest

I started 200 plants from seed this year inside. So far I have planted 134 of them. I’m giving away remaining to friends and family.

I believe dandelion’s are natures most beautiful plants.

That makes my life a lot simpler.

Which is exactly where Elly would like to spend more time – in bed on the weekends.

Next year, April lends a hand. Kids need to be aware that succeeding (almost always) takes hard work.

It’s just like getting a takeout meal.

With gardening there is no “easy way” !

It’s not that easy, Liz. Take a good look at the sweat dripping off your mother.

Because the climate and temperature remain moderate year-round where I live, perennials are my plants of choice. Many bloom almost all year.

Frost is never a problem but sometimes drought is.

It looks like the plants April took got replanted in the 6th panel. I hope so anyway.

Across the street from me, the lawns are so damaged by gophers that the owners replanted the areas with plants. Some have over 100 plants and took weeks to plant. I’m not envious

Children and some young adults are just plain ignorant.

Next time have Lizard Breath help in the planting. That should open her eyes.
