So where do you get the gas to prime the pump?

I can remember when these places were called “service” stations.

How do they know how much to charge? Also, hopefully someone is near by to make sure no one steals gas.

Only in the US do they call a liquid “gas”.

That Gas Station must be in Texas. Some Texans claim that all you need do is poke a hole in the ground in any part of the State and you’ll strike Oil!

Ah a natural gas pump eh.

Someday, this will be a common site when hydrogen cars are mass produced. That said, the early gas pumps did have a glass tank on the top that measured how much gas you were putting into you automobile or farm equipment.

Couldn’t do that in New Jersey. Against the law to pump your own. Seemed really weird the first time I saw that. Seems like feather bedding without the train.

Very high tech compared to the Stone age. Keep cutting back we’ll end up there.

Can you do that with EV’s?

Very Very old gas pumps you hand pumped the gasoline into a glass vessel at the top of the pump that had gallons measured out. You then gravity fed the gasoline into your tank.

For those who have nothing to do on sunny afternoon. Might a well get yourself a slushy cause you’re going to be there afor quite a while of uou gas gauge is on E !!!

Ah, I miss the good ol’ fashioned gas pumps.
