lucky ducks … there was no manga in the libraries (either the school or public library) when I was a kid; I had to rely on tattered secondhand (and completely untranslated!) copies of Shonen Jump and Animage magazines that my cousin mailed to me from Japan .. and I was a ‘lucky duck’ to even have those, back then!
At least they’re reading. Sort of. I do wish more of an effort would be made to get kids reading the classics. Something that doesn’t have a lot of pictures and encourages imagination.
Dang but I wish GoComics had a way to mute comments from specific people. There’s a lot of really tedious dorks who think they’re Josh Fruhlinger or someone from MST3K and they really aren’t.

My local library only has one shelf for manga that barely gets anything new I usually have to do a transfer for that
