I don’t know. I associate pluggers with wearing the cap to keep the sun out of their eyes.

I think you have that backwards and I don’t mean the cap. People that wear their cap backwards are baseball catchers or mexicans. We (us?) pluggers wear them the way they were designed… to shield our eyes from the sun and to keep our noses from burning.

Folks wear it backward to keep the sun off their necks.

Which way to wear the baseball cap depends on what I am doing. The bill can block your view at times ;-)

I don’t think so. This backwards cap thing is a fashion statement. Dad was a farmer, always bent that bill to the perfect curve, never wore sunglasses.

I agree that this ‘fashion statement’ certainly does define someone, just as a “gaily decorated cap, usually with a number of loose peaks tipped with bells” did for royalty some time ago. Not a plugger.

Every ‘Plugger’ I know would never wear their ball cap backwards. That’s for young kids!

They should make baseball caps with a bill in front and one in the back. Then you could look like a real “dude” and still keep the sun out of your eyes. On the other hand, you might look like a real “dud.”

I wear a cap at work to keep the glare from the freaking lights out of my face. Outside of work I don’t wear a hat, or cap.

Pluggers wear a baseball cap properly. It is the non-pluggers I see wearing caps backwards and then using their hands to shade their eyes from sunlight.

Only time I have my cap on backwards is when I’m driving my side-by-side and it keeps blowing off.

My guess is the majority of Pluggers do not buy ball caps. They get them free from auto parts, hardware stores or tractor dealers.

My desk is next to a window. I sometimes wear a ball cap sideways in the afternoon to block out the glare.

I always thought that a smart advertiser would give away ball caps with detachable, reversible visors, so the logo would still be forward. :)

A deerstalker cap has visors front and back to protect the neck, as well as the eyes.

Well, this is a NEW definition of “Pluggers.” I’m pretty sure that Pluggers are the ones who LAUGH at the people who are forced to to squint in the sun and block it with their hands, because their baseball caps are foolishly turned backwards!!
